GameSpy has posted its first impressions from Dragonshard, describing single- and multiplayer. It's a very short text but provides some useful information, especially on the way economy and adventuring is handled. Here's a snip:

But two things become apparent as I continued through the campaign: first of all, this is more of an RPG than an RTS, and (at least in single-player), it's definitely intended to be slower and more deliberate. After a few missions of getting used to the ropes, you realize that you can be queuing up a whole lot of things while you play instead of managing events one at a time. Great players will be leveling up their characters and fetching gold while simultaneously moving up reinforcements and building new buildings. Once you get good, the action feels a lot faster.
