Drizzt Do'Urden Novels

    I am thinking of reading up on the Drizzt Do' Urden novels that I have heard so much about. However, I am pretty confused on one thing about which set I should read first? From the date of publication, I would assume that Icewind Dale trilogy should be read before the Dark Elf Trilogy. However, when I decided to purchase the books at Amazon I can't help but noticed that Icewind Dale Trilogy is considered Book IV - VI of the Legends of Drizzt. So any suggestion on which I should read first? Thanks.

    Thanks for the advice but would it spoil the mysteries for the Icewind Dale trilogy? For example, the Dragonlance Chronicles. Had I read Soulforge before the Chronicles, Raistlin would never be as intriguing as I remembers him to be when he singled handedly tackle his adversaries when magic is most needed. I like reading novels where current events are known but many things are left unanswered or the likes.

    No, it makes sense to read them in the order listed on the page. They're standalone series each, so it's not a problem.

    Well, IWD books were written first IIRC, but the Dark Elf-trilogy is before that chronologically.

    Heck you could just read the Dark Elf Trilogy and stop, that's the best of it ;)

    although the "Hunter's Blades" trilogy kicked major ass I must say.

    QFT. Plus if you stop after that it will mean avoiding sinking a whole heap of money into the series as it slowly stagnates.

    Get the DemonWars series by Salvatore instead. He is acctually allowed to kill of main characters in that series, as opposed to the Drizzt books.

    So far I've read up to the 5th book 'Streams of Silver' and I am damn hell pleased. Its a gazilion times better than the other heroes of the realms so called Elminster series 'The Making of the Mage'. I only managed to read until page 41 where I stop reading completely, unable to force myself to finish.
