Avengers can wear leather right? Then Aeger's Hide or Shadow Dragon armor may be good bets.

Use Staff of Thunder and Lightning to punish those who are foolish enough to oppose nature! Use its magic, afterall, you can not rely on melee as you will have some serious pyschial penalties. (-STR DEX and CON?) Or use fast and furious darts with good special abilities, they may do little damage, but have an excellent attack/round (3 as opposed to 1 of sling) and will force the victim save vs something or have soem nasty effect. Sling will only do some damage, but only with a 1 attack/round. Special darts(wounding, stunning, asp's nest etc.) are better for ranged attacks IMHO.

There are no magic bucklers, unless you imported. I would keep on a staff - cleric's staves get dropped as loot plenty of times and staff of Rhynn is in Ribald's shop. Buy Aeger's Hide from Ribald and wear that until you get the Shadow dragon armor. Ring of protection and maybe the shield ammy to lower your saves and AC. Darts would be my choice for a ranged weapon since you can fire 3 per round.

The -2 to strength and constitution aren't that threatening. Plenty of things can increase strength and you can't get the benefits of a higher than 16 Con anyway.

Actually, there is a +1 buckler you can get, although I can't remember where.

In Mae'var's guild. The room full of trapped doors. Its on the last trapped area on the north wall along with a decent leather armour. If you have the ItemUpgrade mod, you can make Aeger's Hide +3 even better to:
    Aeger's Hide +5
AC 1, Immunity to Confusion, 25% resistance to fire, cold, acid.

EDIT: The staff of curing gives you +2 to AC. Single weapon style also gives you +2 to AC. Both are as good if not better than the Buckler +1, so you can choose staffs.
Make use of the Shield amulet extensively. I think it too can be recharged by selling to a shopkeeper and then buying it back.

Here's a surprise for those playing druids: they can wear the red dragon scale armor you have Cromwell forge. At least, my totemic druid can. I wasn't sure, since it's listed as 'plate mail' for CLUAConsole.

Druids can wear all animal hides, including ankheg plate and the various dragon armors.

edit: removed a reference to a ToB item.

Doesn't one of the fixpacks 'fix' this (i.e. mess it up since ankheg plate is organic)?

You can look at the divine remix mod, wich alters the armour allowance for druids and druid combos.

I'd go for scimitars - when you get belm you will be able to have arround 4 attacks per round!

Stu: a single-classed character only gains extra attacks from items. So, with Belm a 40th level druid will still only have 2 attacks.
