    [IMG] I was thinking, is it possible to build a druid who can be used as a tank? I mean a druid isn't an exceptional fighter, but I was thinking of it's shapeshifting abilities, which one do you think is most effective in combat? And which one has some extra abilities/uses?

    If you install Alternate Shapeshifting in easy-of-use mod, then any druid of equal level with a warrior class beats him easily. As soon as he reaches lvl5 druid's dominance begins. And against elemental half-dragon ... :toofar: :toofar:

    If you make multiclass Barbarian 1/Druid x, it would be able to use better weapons (greataxes, greatswords...) and better armor (medium) than pure druid. Barbarian, because they get rage and it could be better role-playing choice than fighter. Ranger could also do it.

    And druid's spells are interesting, although there aren't too many melee buff spells in their lists.

    Huh? Druids already start out with medium armor feat so no difference with a barbarian (though in terms of the weapons feat you are right there). Except maybe get faster speed and take dash feat, whoopee see that guy zip.

    Or take a monk level to get the AC bonus to shapechanged forms and maybe move a little faster too when shapechanged.

    Isn't there a Red Dragon shapeshift?

    If so... :evil:

    Few levels() {

    Thanks. That's because the programming tool I recently most often use is CTRL+C and CTRL+V. Like 100KB of a JavaScript function with if's all over. Bweeeh.

    Excuse me, if I'm being a bit off-topic, but what on earth did those last few posts even say? This is as incomprehensible as that crazy 'Shizzle Dawg My Nizzle' thread.

    They were writing out class suggestions in C++ :)

    If you're not familiar with it, just scroll through their posts and read the parts which seem to make sense i.e the class combinations.

    I myself dunno C++ (Java only) but I had no trouble understanding.

    The basic of tank druids is high Con and Str. Without mods, they still can be made tanks (oh I do not like this word so much). Shapeshifting and protection spells are needed.

    Notice to all members: Add the following line to your program if you feel threatened:
    If VeryCrazyChevalier=TRUE then Application.Terminate("chevalier"). :p

    Two comments here. First, the alternate shapeshifting mod is ridiculously overpowered. Unfortunately, the shapeshifting posiblities in the basic game are a bit weak, but when Weimer made the shapeshifting mod, he took it to an extreme. Personally, I wouldn't use it, as it seriously affects game and character balance. But that's just me.

    The other thing is, I'm a bit of a purist. For that reason, I wanted to point out that Harkle's idea of a Bbn(1)/Druid(x) has merit, but one of the strengths he gave was the ability to use better weapons. This is something that, honestly, breaks true 3e rules. It is allowed in the game, and just like anything else you may use it if you so choose. But, in true 3e rules, even when multi-classed, a druid who uses weapons prohibited to druids loses their druid powers. So giving her a level of barbarian then weilding a greatsword is all well and good, but your Druid skill s will go bye-bye. Again, the game hasn't implemented this, so use it as you see fit. Being a purist, I would never use anything other than scimitars, clubs, spears, and daggers on a druid character. :)

    By the way. Remember that druids to have one of the single most important spells in the game when you're looking to create a 'tank' character. Barkskin. If that's what you're trying to build, this spell goes a long way toward making that happen. Jeremiah also had a good idea. Rather than even being concerned with armor, just make sure you keep your Wisdom as high as you possibly can. Before you know it, you can take a level in Monk and the Wisdom bonus to armor will be better than any armor in the game.

    (tis a joke)

    ? if(a=='C++post') ?

    == is equivalence operator in C/C++

    but:

    - you shall enclose character into single quotes, e.g. 'x' is for character x, '\015' is for character which ascii code is equal to 15 octal (13 decadic), '\x10' is for character which ascii code is 10 hexadecimal (16 decadic) ...
    - you shall enclose strings into (double) quotes, e.g. "this is a string" for a string
    (more rules exist ...)
    - you shall compare string with string compare function, like strcmp(string1, string2)
    - you shall compare pointers with equivalence operator ==, e.g. a=="ssss" means a holds an address of string "ssss" this is a part of compiled and linked code in data segment, e.g. a points somewhere into loaded code (data)

    is this clear now ? :D

    or was it something else ?

    (for example: for modern SQL languages:
    - you shall enclose strings into single quotes
    - you shall enclose object and column names into (double) quotes)

    but is there a formal language which allows

    if(a=='C++post') ???

    please help me - which one ? I cannot sleep ...

    why programmers do not see difference between christmas and haloween?

    becase 31 oct = 25 dec

    (31 octal = 3 * 8 + 1 = 2 * 10 + 5 = 25 decadic)

    That must be a record for one of the most off topic posts in history.

    But I agree with Xindell. The vanilla druid has lamo shapeshifting but the modded druid's shapeshifting is so powerful that I try not to use it unless my party is in serious trouble. A bit like a smart bomb.

    I have the EoU and chose the alternate shapeshift but have not used it even once in the game. With the party make up, the druid has spent most of his time casting spells and some of the additional spells are quite nice to get since my sorc and wizard can't cast them yet.
