The Dungeon-Be-Gone mod has been released.

    http://www.forgottenwars.net/dbg/

It's an Irenicus Dungeon (aka Chez/Chateau Irenicus) skipper. No, it's not RIDE.

For those times when your new game falters under the weighty trail of playing... *that* dungeon - again.

    What is Dungeon-Be-Gone?:

    - A shortcut through Irenicus' Dungeon. Merely talk to the guide that appears shortly after your character is released, and you'll have several options.

    - You also get a hopefully entertaining NPC guide to take you through, and he even has voicing. (Why? Because we can.)

    Take Note:

    - This MOD is rather silly, and also skips all the story elements and such just to get you to the end faster. This is aimed for those who have played the game so many times that Irenicus' dungeon has become more painful than a root canal, and less interesting than a Valygar coffee mug. If silliness and/or 'cheating' offends you, then looks like you'll just be wresting long bows from goblins for a while.

Mind if I mirror that file on SP? I'd link to it in any case, just wondering...

Sure, that would be excellent. Let me know here when it's up and we'll add your site as a mirror on the DBG page as well.

A link back to FW in the description (www.forgottenwars.net) would also be terrific.

Sure. Unless something highly unpredictable happens it'll be up tomorrow, in the subsection with the custom mods. Keep an eye on the front page.

Actually, do us both a favor and hold off for 1.1. Blue accidentally created the NPC with HLAs in it, so it will crash without TOB installed. Also, we didn't have the wands or the Girdle of Bluntness in, those are being added as we speak. I'll reply here when 1.1 is available.

EDIT: Okay, 1.1 is now out.

I take it the player will get all the Goodies, will they also get the loot from the goblins? The experiance? Althought I imagine that would be rather hard to calculate...

You don't get things like the goblin bows and so forth. You get the good stuff, though, like the Sword of Chaos, Mail of the Dead, Equalizer Gem, etc.

You get 50-60,000 XP. Some people have been arguing that this is too low. But considering that all you have to do is listen to some dialogue to get it, it's not bad. :)

Simple solution: don`t set dates - just say it`ll be done "sometime in the near future", then noone will complain for a year or two. :D :D
I promised someone some money right at the beggining of year 7, haven`t been bugged about it, this is now almost the end of year 10.
But then, the person in question isn`t quite as smart as some...

I never set dates, this was an exception. But it only proved that that the rule still holds. :heh:

To use it on a Mac, you would have to use a Windows Emulator, because WeiDU needs an installer.
Taking a wild guess, I would say that if other WeiDU mods work (such as Sola, Valen, Ascention WeiDU, Baldurdash Remix, SP Fixpack, Tashia, Kelsey, Improved Llyich, Spell-50, Expanded Thief Stronghold, and -at the risk of sounding like a commercial- more), then this one will too.

    If it doesn`t, get a *real* computer :D :D

    Actually, Mac WeiDU is here:

    http://homepage.mac.com/devons/

So if you download Mac WeiDU, unzip DBG to your BG2 dir, and replace setup-kelsey.exe with Mac WeiDU, it should work, I do believe.

Although you will have to decode the ogg files yourself. You should be able to get Mac ogg tools eventually poking around ogg sites like http://www.xiph.org/

Wow, that is going to be my favorite thing ever. If I ever get my damn game to work.
