Good tactic? Go for the king first. When the king's dead, it's all over. A fireball in his direction should do the trick. Another one aimed at the pawns would do nicely too, since it'll probably take them all out.

Anyway, the party's just beginning. It ain't over till you're at the bottom. ;)

Or you could shhhhh... CHEAT! Drink a Potion of Absorption and a Potion of Invisibility and just step on the forbidden squares to send lightning bolts on your opponents. I don't think you get any experience from this, but if you're having problems, you might want to try it out...

It's too bad you can't call down lightning on your opponent in a real game of chess, eh?:evil:

I never even moved my guys off the starting squares in that fight... a couple of fireballs into the enemy team does the trick great, also summoning monsters into the middle of the board draws the more powerful enemies forward to a point that you can hit them with missle weapons... but really a couple of fireballs usually seals it.

And don't forget to search the bodies!

An important note. You should cast protection from fear on them for sure to keep them from running around and kiling themselves due to a nasty fear inducing spell or something. Also might be a good idea to memorize a few resilient spears just in case a character gets confused and stats wandering around. Better to keep them trapped then have them kill you all:)

[IMG] Well, just i won the fight last night, nice twohand sword :)

    my tactic:
run forward so the pawns attack me, kill all of them, then cast 2 webs and 2 stinking clouds, 2 fireballs and then paralyze the king and hit him with a couple of magic missiles, that made the trick... went very well... :)
So of to the lower levels!
