You can obtain wardstones (including a forgery) from Ike at Durlag's Tower, and Galkin (or Galken) and Delsvirwhatsitthingumy in Ulgoth's Beard. But what exactly do they grant you access to? Which areas can't you go without them and do you need all of them or just one?

    *confused*

There are certain areas that can't be accessed without them. IIRC, one of the wardstones makes a large symbol light up on the ground that is a portal, in the area after the room with all the torture stuff in it (the goblet of blood is on the floor of the torture room).

Oh, actually, the stone for that is in the bucket right by the portal.

I thought maybe you had to put the green one in the green sparring dummy, red in the red dummy, orange in the orange dummy. But i don't think anything special happened when i did that.

In which case, i'm as confused as you.

Yeah, I think you mean the Teleportation wardstone which is on the same level as the pot. The coloured wardstones are named Islanne, Fuernebol and Kiel. I'm not too sure what they do either! :)

The ones I'm interested in though are the ones you get from Ike or Ulgoth's Beard that are called "Dwarven Rune Wardstone" and have a backwards "P" or three slashed lines on them.

Those are all fakes and useless.
Only the ones used in the Tower are any good.

At least that's what I've determined.
