Edwins many spells in memory

    I've noticed that at level 12 Edwin has almost double the memory slots of spell level 1-5 than my other level 11 mage has with 18 intelligence. {Neither wearing any items to increase slots} I know he's a specialized mage and receives an extra slot per level..
    Leads me to my next question: I'm wondering if i have a bug or if this is true for everyone, and if so, wonder why Edwin isn't by far the best mage available in terms of spellcasting.
