I open a newspaper and what do I see? "Suits and ties, politicians don't have to look like that." And a collection of female MP candidates in various outfits and poses. The pro-family party candidate (Liga Polskich Rodzin (LPR) = League of Polish Families) went for a shot on a park swing in a dark pink tartan skirt (just above knees) and a lighter matching jacket. The "civic" party one (Platforma Obywatelska (PO) = Civic Platform) was reclining in a leather mini skirt (shorter than the pro-family one's and longer than the democrat's) and a white jacket, showing some legs in dark stockings and heels. The candidate from the "Law and Justice" party (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (PiS) = Law and Justice) gave a face picture only. The candidate from the major left party (Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej (SLD) = Alliance of Democratic Left), the direct successor of the communist party (commies are called social democrats nowadays ), which has lost and been losing support badly, had a slightly shorter mini than the civic girl and a nice white jacket, with a thin belly line. The shot was taken in such a way as to show off her behind, albeit in a somewhat discreet way. The social-democrat (Socjaldemokracja Polska (SdPl) = Polish Socialdemocracy) had a longer skirt and a jeans one (her top was also very casual), but the whole shot concetrated on her butt. The newly founded democratic party (Partia Demokratyczna (PD) = Democratic Party) boasted a girl in a tube top (a wider bra and by no means sticking to the body at the lower end) and a mini skirt she was suggestively almost pulling down with her hands in the belt loops. The girl from the adventurous anti-civic and somewhat agricultural "Self Defence" party (Samoobrona = Self-defence) only had a bust shot in a nice white jacket, showing off her... smile. The traditional (and practically extinct) redneck party woman (Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe (PSL) = Polish People's Faction) posed in... oil. And an almost pulled down top and an almost pulled up microskirt. What does this say of the parties?

I could scan those some time. But the oily one is gross.

While our President Mary Robinson, would not wear short skirts (shes a lady!), I know for a fact that other contenders will be trying this out for our local and regional elections.

However, in the North of Ireland, you would be hard pushed to find a politician younger than 55, so short skirts and baby oil out (for the moment anyway)!

 

Some of the stuff pisses me off, to be honest. What's worse is that the oily one is probably going to be elected. Ever seen a male candidate take half-naked shots to sell his image better and score with female voters? Female citizens weren't given candidating rights so that some women of questionnable resolve could use their bodies to get votes. What's next? Gratitude date for single male voters in local elections? But it's quite funny to watch how low people are ready to get to find approval or achieve their goals. It certainly adds a touch of humour to feminism and liberation. Okay, it looks like I'd better get the scans soon.

 

Well... it sure beats our politicians, who are, well uninteresting. As a result, there's typically not much interest in politics here,except complaining.
I say, give the masses bread and boobies, 'll keep them happy.

Just above knees? Absolutely nothing. I'm not here to judge the pictures for right and wrong, I'm just comparing things and being mildly amused by the observations. Things like scoring votes for showing body, especially as regards the oily one or the democrat, piss me off. Heh, part of the blame goes to dumb male voters, of course. I actually liked some of the pictures.

It's a part of the uniform in some quite respectable services, as well. Scanned the pics, updating the opening post.

Youcould at least have put the fast scan pictures the right way round!

I think it's funny (not as in ha-ha, but as in odd) how you can tell someones nationality, or at least geographical location from their picture.
