I used POREdit_1_9 to give my characters a boost but now all their encumbrances are set to 0. This makes battles really long and annoying. Any one know how to fix this? Or is there another mod that allows me to edit their encumbrance level?

I'll assume your silence is code for "no one cares enough about this game to know."

I must admit, however, that I am some what happy to learn that I'm not the only one who thinks this games sucks. Unfortunately I bought it when it was still new.

Oh well live and learn. Thanks any way.

The code is probably closer to "we have no idea, we've been trying to erase all memories of this game for 9 years" :D

Seriously, I did use PORedit but only sparingly (to fix a bug with the starting level/XP of an NPC) but didn't run across this problem. I have long since got ridden of the game discs, so I have no way of replicating the problem. And you're definitely no the only one who thinks it's a bad game :) I used the speed patch and that made it more tolerable, enough to finish it but not to ever want to replay it again.

I've had a few corruption problems with the program. The only thing I've found that works is to back up the character files BEFORE using the program. If you get such a corruption, simply restore your files and try again. It usually works the second time.

Further advice would be to do it one character at a time. I can't recall, but I think the problem happens most often when editing either the first character or the last character in the file. I haven't played in a couple years, so my memory is a bit fuzzy.

For reference, my last saved game seems to be 12/13/2008.

Thanks, yeah I did them all at once. I wasn't that far in though. I wanted to juice up their level a bit more but it looks like I'll have to do it the slow way.

I'm not even sure I want to mess with it. I'm getting DA:O some time over the next couple of weeks so that should sate my D&D RPG craving for a while. Too bad there's no multiplayer :(
