    Ugh, this is turning up everywhere. It's either viral marketing (most likely answer for me), a massive hoax where the counter reaches zero and is replaced by Goatse.cx or something equally gross, or in about 6 hours the virus will be released that will destroy civilization.

    I think it's most likely the 1st, but I'm kind of hoping for option #3.

    EDIT: Interesting. Turns out it was a social experiment. they wanted to see how people would react to a lack of information. Go check out the site and see for yourselves.
