Equalizer Pommel Jewel trouble

    [​IMG] Hmm, one question, when i was playing BG2:SOA
    i collected all the parts to The Equalizer, but i fooled up and placed the pommel jewel in one of the chest in D'arnise stronghold, and now i dont have it, and i wonder if there is any way to get i back i TOB? or is it worth the trouble, is the sword that good? :) thanks for you help!

    Basically, if you've started playing ToB there's no way to get it back legitimately. You can't access SoA areas from ToB (except Watcher's Keep), and if you had the pommel jewel you couldn't get to Cromwell to forge the item.
    If you want to create the Equalizer as a whole via the console, its code is SW1H54; however there are much better longswords in ToB - the Equalizer isn't even that good in SoA by the time you can collect all the pieces.

    well, but that little imp that is your butler says that he can forge the pieces together, oh well... since there are better sword, i guess that it doesn't matter...

    [​IMG] Cespenar cannot build the equalizer for you -unfortunately only cromwell can do that - so when you have SoA items unfinished you won't be able to complete them in ToB ...

    [​IMG] Don't feel bad about it, the Equalizer is the worst of the "forged" weapons from SoA and. It's clearly outclassed by loads of other weapons in ToB.

    I wouldn't be so harsh about the equalizer - sure there are better weapons but mind the equalizer's stats:

    Special feature: Wielder is immune vs charm and confusion; hurts any opponent like a weapon +3

    THACO & damage:
    vs true neutral: +0 on THACO, +0 on damage
    vs chaotic & lawful neutral: +1 on THAC0, +2 on damage
    vs neutral good & neutral evil: +2 on THACO, +4 on damage
    vs all other alignemts: +3 on THACO, +6 on damage
    damage type: slashing
    weight: 3
    initiative: 3

    I wreaked havoc with it among mindflayers and vampires. It is a powerful weapon + it cah hurt even the enemies immune to +2 weapons (like adamantite golems).

    [​IMG] Ragusa, I think I was very fair about the Equalizer.
    Which forged weapon is worse than the Equalizer?

    This weapons redeeming feature is immunity to Charm and Confusion (very nice) so it's not that bad, but put in relation to other weapons, many of which do not require chasing for three different parts and then forging, it is not good.
    A small note: Unless I solo I always use lots of Chaotic Commands - and get more by using Wondrous Recall - as well as mind protecting items like Shield of Harmony.

    Once you're in chapter 6 you have loads of weapons that can hit Adamantite Golems.

    In ToB there are too many excellent weapons for the E to stand a chance.
