Essentials Facts about the Video Game Industry at ESA

    The Entertainment Software Association has published the Essential Facts (sales, demographics and usage data) about the computer and video game industry for 2005. It's quite interesting and sometimes surprising. For example, you can find out that people under the age of 18 don't necessarily play more than anyone else and that the vast majority of heads of households (between the people surveyed) plays games.     Those are some very interesting results - assuming that they are correct.

    It kind of shatters the young males only view that the media tends to push on us. I was a little amused by the 55% male 43% female split. Regardless of how they rounded that it still leaves at least one percent missing so we must have some "other"s out there. :D

    Edit: Actually, given that both figures are listed with .0s after them that would make it 2% "other". :D
