[IMG] I'm just curious to know what you all think the best way to play an evil charcter is. Other than hacking and slashing everything you come across... because I know if you do that, you're just going to have an awful time getting much farther in the game as your reputation drops and no one will speak with you and the guards are always angry.... :)

A fighter\mage\thief! You can either steal from, kill, or blow away enemies (and friends)! Best way to successfully play evil.

    [IMG] There are,
They just wine all the time,
when you had to kick a soldier or did something that you shouldn't have done.
But sometimes it's necessary, or your mage might die (For example)
(Of course your own character won't wine,
but I just hate to be very good or very evil)

[IMG] It's not that I think there are disadvantages to playing good characters it's just that I've played the games through already with a good party, now I want to try it with an evil party and I was just looking for suggestions on how to do it without getting my butt smoked from guards and upset villagers.. etc. I usually do play good characters but sometimes you need a change

[IMG] The best way to play evil is to keep your reputation at around 10. This will keep your evil comrades happy and shopkeepers won't charge you double. You can still do evil things, just make sure that people don't know that it is you who is doing the evil. This is the best way to be evil since you are misleading people as well as stealing from them and killing their friends.

[IMG] Thanks! You're right, keeping it around 10 works like a charm. Keeps everybody pretty safe and I'm not getting attacked every time I turn a corner. Plus, like you said, the sneakier the better, because let's face it, the only people who REALLY go around just slashing everything in their path are the insane ones. I wasn't sure if playing an evil group would be much fun because of the negative reaction but now that I know what I'm doing it's a blast :D

[IMG] Well consider how much opp there is to be Evil,

    you can blow off Imoen.

You can help Xvar rescue his friend

    You can kill that Ranger..

so far it looks like an evil persona can get serious employment.

I just wish Jeheira wasn't the love interest.

I had to buy her a locket, and I know I would rather have done so for Arielle!!!

There is more than 1 way to finish some of the quests I have learned. In chapter 2 you can work with the thieves guild or work against them if you go working with the "evil" vampire chick. The end result is same but the way to get to the end of that quest is different.

By the way, the last time I played the game, I was nurturing the romances with Janeira and Aerie at the same time....eventually Aerie and I were the tiem, but it seemed like although Jaheira and I didn't officially get together, there was still a lot going on...I bought the locket for her, and even after Aerie had declared her love for me (and I didn't sleep with Phaere because of it) Jaheira still would make comments that showed that she still had feelings for me...

I think that roleplayers should restrict the staying at rep 10 to chaotic evil chars lawful and neutral (less severely) types should stay true to their alignment and show it.
