This is my first time playing ID2, and with Drow and Duergar, I thought I'd try something fun and new...an all evil party. I've got:

Male Drow Ranger (kinda the leader)
Male Duergar Fighter (wanted to go Paladin but there's no evil counterpart!)
    Male Half-Orc Barbarian
    Male Drow Rogue (assassin)
    Female Human Druid
    Female Drow Sorceress

Thoughts? Tips? I created the characters mostly based on the portraits...downloaded a ton of custom portraits, went through and found my favorites, and then created the characters based on how I envisioned them by seeing the portraits. Not entirely sure how to roleplay this as the dialogue options are pretty limited and a bit TOO obvious to go with the 'evil' option all the time. So we'll see how it plays out.

Alignment doesn't matter too much, might affect some conversation options, but 99% of the game is the same regardless. Feel free to make a paladin and have him murder peaceful NPCs for gold and xp.

A Cleric of Bane is cool. With an evil party you can have your characters act like mercs and then slaughter as many characters as you want (Hedron's mother and her cats, the druids at the Shaengarne river, the Monks in the Black Raven monastery, etc).

Some evil options are really nice (like the evil cleric bullying Viera in Targos).

[IMG] I'd recommend cleric too, just for access to important spells.

Are you me? :D I do so too, almost every time I play IWD. And then I spend a few hours on writing the biographies in the character sheets. And then I proceed to write fanfiction about them. A lot of time passes until I finally decide to play the damned game already ;). As for the party, I would dual - class the sorceress to a more warlike profession, so that she can handle herself in close combat, should the need arise. And for the health points. But that's just me.
