Exporting items?

    [​IMG] I'm embarassed to ask. i just completed bg2 for the another time, but this is actually the first time I'm going to export my char seriossly. I never sold the most powerfull stuff so I can get it in ToB again. However I had a problem. When I export my char with all the powerfull stuff in a Bag of Holding when I view my char with the character viewer my bag of holding is missing. I go in the game again, check that the bag of holding is in my main char export him again and it's the same problem. When I tried to import the same char. in bg2 I don't see my bag of holding either (althouhg i do see all my other stuff, just pausing before the irenacus dialog and I see everything else that's not in my bag of holding). So is this some kind of a bug, or is it supposed to happen? And if it is is there someone who can tell me how to keep my items and will they disappear if they are left in other characters (like Korgan)?

    I thnik they say that you will keep your bag of holding in ToB, and if you start a new character, you will gain another bag of holding with some nice stuff in it. I can't say if it's a bug or no, but I think you import a savegame and not a character in ToB, and in your savegame I assume you still have the bag of holding.

    Vicsun is right. The engine puts items from Bag of Holding when you save the game elsewhere, and that's why you can't see them in *.chr files. I checked it!

    That also happens with gem bags and scroll cases.

    It is probably just a glitch. :(

    However, don't weep, there's nice CLUAConsole:CreateItem(ITEMCODE) command, and you just post what item you need and I'll post it's code. I'll stick around until Arcanum gets released...

    And don't relay on SK, command window won't screw your game for sure. ;)

    Well that's gonna be annoying. I'll try inporting a savegame. It might work.

    I know in the HOW manual it says that exported characters do not get to keep bags of holding, scoll cases, gem bags or potion bags. As it's the same engine they won't export in BG2 either.

    Gem Bags, Scroll Cases, and the Bag of Holding, are not allowed to be exported. these items and all the contents will be deleted when the character is exported. This should not be a problem for ToB since it will use the last Save Game file.

    In exported character files (*.chr) are saved those three containers, but not items that are inside them. Am I clear enough now?
