[IMG] Could someone tell me what stats do my figher has to have so he can dual class to spec. mage? I was thinking of doing it at level 3, so i get 1 more proficency point. As a mage he should be able to wield ranged weapons. Can he still use bows and crossbows after I dual him to mage? What mage school do you suggest?
I searched everywhere but to no avail.

Human, STR 15+, INT 17+, other stats as needed for the specialty.

After you dual, you will no longer be able to use fighter weapons until your mage level is one higher than your fighter level was. Then you will regain your fighter abilities.

Your best bet is to dual at 3rd level. That way you get the extra prof. slot. Make sure that you have a 15+ str, 15+ dex, 15+ int. I feel that the best spec. mage is the necromaster. You may lose Enchantment and Illusion, but you gain all the powerful spells. If you want to, specialize in bow, than you can stay far away. Good luck.

Ignore wis and cha and max out the rest.
If you don't have a bard you can set wis to 10 for lore or cha to 15 for optimal shop prices with the friends spell.

If you have HoW installed, then dual to illusionist.
If you don't have HoW installed then dual to conjurer if you have someone who can do the identifying.
Take +++ in bow and ++ in a long range 2-handed weapon. (I'd take greatsword or spear, quarterstaffs are crap.)
Sling/longsword with shield isn't bad either

Do i need to have dexterity 15+? Because I don't.
I've just gone up to 2nd level and I can't dual, is that the cause?
If it is, is there a way to boost my stats like trough some editor, or cheats, like creating tomes of dexterity? Of course I would like to lower some of other stats by equal amount.

I actually can. Mod erase this post.

Eh, no need for erasure. The questions are valid, and might actually be a problem for someone else reading this post in the future. :)

High Dexterity is generally a good idea for any wizard, but is only necessary for Transmuters (Alteration specialist) and Illusionists. And I am shocked and appalled to find that the manual has NO information on that. So, here are the requirements:

    Abjurer - 15 WIS
    Conjurer - 15 CON
    Diviner - 16 WIS
    Enchanter - 16 CHA
    Illusionist - 16 DEX
    Invoker - 16 CON
    Necromancer - 16 WIS
    Transmuter - 15 DEX

For altering stats, there is an editor called Dalekeeper that you can use to edit your savegame and mess around with your character however you want.
