I have become a fallen Paladin mainly because one of the city guards (the lieutenant), somehow got caught in a battle against Vampires at the Bridge district. He attacked my team and was killed. My reputation dropped 9 (yikes!), which dropped me to a fallen Paladin. Now, I stupidly kept playing instead of reloading and it got me thinking if it is at all possible to regain your paladin status. I tried looking this up at various sources but couldn't find out anything. I'm playing The darkest Day Mod.

IIRC, you can regain your Paladin status when you get the Paladin stronghold. So if you haven't done the Windspear Hills quest yet, you still have a chance.

    (Can anyone confirm this?)

You should first talk to Lord Jierdan in the Copper Coronet. A couple of low spoiler details are in the box below.

Do not kill Fircraag until told to do so by the Order. Also the quest to save the Morningale girl may be difficult without your paladin abilities -- save before going into the house and don't write over that save until Reirrac tells you the mission was successful and you regain your paladinhood.
