So those people who have played "fallout" is it a good game? What is the storyline and is it worth getting?

Fallout is so called Post Nuclear RPG and you begin as a hero sent in the wastelands to get so called Water Chip for your underground settlement (where people are staying to protect themselves from radiation). Otherwise, there will be lack of water and people will die!
    Great game, buy it!

On the other hand, it's a bit short, so I suggest you skip it and get Fallout 2 where son of hero from Fallout searches for underground Vault mentioned above. This one is greater, buy it at all costs, even if it takes a billion!

These two games also seem to be budget games nowadays, so you can get them very cheap to. Just don't forget to use the patch on Fallout 2, because it's buggy as hell. And if you want to know more about these games, seach this forum for it, there have been some posts about it. Or visit the sites of gamespot, interplay or black isle.

[IMG] Fallout 2s great, and is a kind of predecessor of BG. Many of the Black Isle trademarks are there like non linear plots. Adult themes like drug dependancy and brothels occur. Weaponry varies from spears through 20th to 21st century.

[IMG] I think the overall opinion here is the same. Fallout 1&2 are both great games. I've seen them sold together for around $25 us. If you like BG or IWD you will soon be a fan of the Fallout series.

Actually you can find them for less than that. I got both bundled together at Amazon.com for $10. Of course I also got Baldur's Gate at best buy that same week for $15, which led to me getting TotSC, BG2, IWD and HOW. So Fallout 1&2 have slipped on my list of game to play but I'll get to them eventually (sometime after I finish TOB?).
