[IMG] If I want to have a familiar in a multiplayer game does the first guy I make have to be a mage or will it work if any of my characters are a mage and for that matter if I have more than one mage can I have more than one familiar. (not that I would want that but just wondering if it was possible)

I think it has to be the first player, as the rest are counted as new NPCs, so your first player is still the protagonist.

I learned this the hard way by making my first character a fighter, then I cast Find Familiar for my mages, but t said that they weren't the protagonist. Doh!

    Hope this helps,

    Herr'Don

That´s right. I played a multiplayer game with a mage on second place and I had the same problem. So I agree: It´s for the main char only. But who needs a familiar at all? What are the good for? They just cause trouble .. (IMHO - so if you like familiars, ignore me)

    Some nice receipes here: http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001731.html

[IMG] In multiplayer, you dont need to be a mage to get a familiar. All you do is put in a character who is originally a mage as the protagonist. Cast find familiar. save game, quit, load game, and make a new NON MAGE character as the protagonist. Load game and Voila!!! You still have a familiar, pretty cool, huh?:)
