Wow! I just looked at the snow tileset, and it's amazing! Haven't tried the desert yet as that means I have to change the contents of the override folder, but I will later. Can't wait for more tilesets .

 

This is just getting better and better, I finally managed to download the toolset, and now there are even more tilesets available, NWN is going to be awesome

 

Great! it gives indeed some more possibilities, however I don't think there will come many more official tilesets, NWN told already that they only make tilsets that are common in Faerun.

 

Too bad. I really wanted a Graveyard tile set.

 

What are you talking about? You can easily create a good graveyard area with the rural tileset. Look at this (if the url doesn't work, open a new window, and paste the address in).

Well I've downloaded the Dessert tileset. Noone seems to be talking much about it, so I figured I'd pop in and post a quick review of what I've been able to do with it.

For a general basic barren rock dessert, the tileset works perfectly fine. There is of course a lack of dessert fauna which kind of puts a damper on things. A cactus here or a flower there would make the whole thing look better, but it's not that bad. Rocky cliffs look very good, so for that, it works fine. It does take a bit of editing however to get rid of most of the random trees if you don't want them in the final product, but otherwise, again, it's fine.

The real limitations of using the rural tileset to create a dessert come into play when you want to create a settlement in the dessert. It takes some creativity here as there just aren't many suitable buildings for a dessert in the rural tileset. Hopefully someone will create some good 3d models for buildings, but until then, about the only ones that look right in a dessert are the barracks and temples. None of the others really look like they belong. This basically means all of your buildings will end up looking the same, but if you can get past this, and can be creative with the other tiles and placable objects, the dessert tileset can create some fantastic looking areas. I'm in the process of finishing off an amaizing dessert city as I type this. Hopefully when I'm done, I'll be able to show it off in some way or another. It would give a good idea of how to work around the limitations of the rural to dessert tileset.

For a final grade, I'll give the tileset a C. The basic work on the terrain is a good start, and works well when creating a barren wasteland, but without the addition of some custom fauna or building tiles, it's limited in what can be done with it. I give it an average score, only because there is enough content in the rual tiles to at least work around the limtations.

EDIT: BTW, I'm really wanting to get my hands on the everwinter tile set, but every time I try, the site is down. Anyone have an updated link perhaps, or just want to send it to me? I mean, it would only take an hour or two
