In my opinion, each class should have a at least one race that favors it. Like for example, Wood elves would favor Druid, or a certain race of dwarves or elves favor Cleric. What do you guys think?

Well, some of those race / class preferences are implemented. Like Halfings are the best thieves, Half-Orcs are strongest fighters, Elves are good archers, etc.

But yes, there are some classes that are lacking a favourable race. Like the two you mentioned... none of the races have a distinct wisdom advantage to be the best cleric race.

In the old games, races were restricted to what level they can reach for each class. (Eg: Elf only reach 10th level fighter or something like that) That really does give each class a preferable race, without fiddling with each race's stats. But that's a bit too restricting IMHO, so I'm glad it's gone. Okay I better stop ranting semi-off topic now...

Baldur's Gate series uses these older D&D rules where favored classes are not implemented. Newer games use those rules where every race has their own favoured class. If I remember correctly, Neverwinter Nights and Temple Of Elemental Evil use those rules. Well, guess everyone already knew that.

Yes, that's right. In 3E D&D rules races do have favoured classes, although this only really effects multi-classing. It would be nice to see some other effects of choosing a class which your race favours. Maybe even having, to counter it, a class which your race cannot take, or gets penalties if taken.
