Ok, now that you know my favorite type of sandwhich, and the gross things you can do with it. I want to hear what your favorite type of sandwhich is. Some of you already said in the other post. But please add some here.

    There are two:
a club sandwich is good at any time of day...

a Reuben is decadent, best late at night after ...?

Tomato, mozzerella and basilicum on a piece of baguette. Delicious. I don't know what it is called, but I think I heard somebody call it a Caprese once.

P.S. Basilicum probably isn't an English word, but I can't think of the correct translation at this moment. It are green leaves.

Pita -any spiced meat- with garlic and 'sambal'. (turkish: kebab, shoarma, kofte, etc)
Especially after a nice amout of larger, at 5.30am in the weekends.
Next morning in church is pretty funny.

A big blonde french roll with ham or turkey in it. Some cheese, lots of cucumber, and one well cooked egg. Some ice-sallad, and 2 slices of tomato. Add chili-broiler sauce.

It's a rare occation when I get such a full sandwitch but it just has to be the greatest non-warm meal one can get.

On the more practical side, cheese with some salami and cucumber is enough to satisfy the more common needs.

[IMG] Sir Bel: those 'italian hoagies' are known as panini.

    1. bacon, lettuce and german peppered salami with home-made egg-mustard-garlic mayonnaise
    2. chicken with sage-onion stuffing and pesto
    3. mature cheddar (grated!) with chillies and sunblushed, sundried or fresh sliced tomato.

    pretty expensive tastes huh?

@the god: Sorry, but there's a big difference between panini and real Italian hoagies as served in Philadelphia (I realize that "real hoagies" and "Philadelphia" are redundant, but I had to make the point).

Sir Bel, when you get to Philly, PM me - I work in Center City and maybe we can meet for a real Italian hoagies someday!

    Another fave: falafel!
