Up two sets, Federer lost today to Tsonga. While I think we all knew that he was on the way down, I, at least, did not think that he was that far on the decline yet. No way did I believe that Federer would lose on the grass up two sets to anyone, although I could certainly understand that happening against Nadal or Djokovich. Not Tsonga though.

    Does Fed win another major?

I love Tsonga, he's such a legend. Good player, too. Fed just seems to have lost his 'zip'.
Whether he'll win another major with Nadal, Djokovic et al is hard to say.

He's only 29 though, so I think he'll be here for a year or two yet.

I remember that rumors about Federer's decline started about three years ago. And really the fact that it may only be happening now is rather shocking. Sampras was pretty much done at 29 - I think he retired at 30. So I'm not willing to write him off completely yet, in that he "only" made it to the quarterfinals.

It's also worth noting that he beat Djokovic on his worst surface just a month ago and played one of his best matches against Nadal on clay.

He certainly won't be as dominant as he was before. Wimbledon has constantly gotten slower and some analysts claim that in some ways it's even slower than the clay of Roland Garros, I think it's not really even Federers best surface anymore. I think hard courts suit him better these days. I doubt he'll be able to surpass Sampras' record of total weeks as number one anymore, I doubt he'll ever be on that spot again. He's still capable of winning Grand Slams though and he'll be a major contender in all of them. He just won't be the automatic favorite to win everything outside clay.
