Hey all. I played through BG2 countless times, well over half with minsc. I always avoided taking edwin with him, since that would lead to fighting and death and loss of precious precious XP.
Now, im going the different way. With Minsc, Edwin, Keldorn, viconia and jaheira in the group im looking for some serious discontentment. But nothing. Not one single argument. Anything I can do to make them get mad faster, or at all?

BTW i have NOT installed mods to prevent hatred...

 

How long since you completed your party?

 

Days- about 15, but real time is huge (I get a lot done each Bg2 day), and thats what makes banters work.

 

Do you have "Ease of Use" installed?

 

IIRC, there is a mod to make Valygar and Edwin come into conflict as well. Not sure if it's Unfinished Business, but would guess that's the one.

 

I have ease of use, and UB, but NOT the components that stop them fighting. Valygar and edwin have been at each others throats recently, and if they'd actually fight, i'd be happy.

 

It should happen eventually, but then it may not. Each conversation is either event related (such as Minsc talking with Edwin after the Nether Scroll) or random. It took a LOOOOOOOONG time for Keldorn and Anomen to start talking in my most recent game. I even had Viconia for a while with no arguements from Keldorn (they were together about a week of game time). I hear Valygar and Viconia get into a fight which is event related (some woman needs to talk to Valygar first).

I would recommend doing the NPC related quests to get any event related conversation going -- it may take off from there.

 

These are the major dialogs that broke out in my game so far. I'm not counting the romance with Jaheira or the stuff with Imoen that happens every game (Chapter 1 and in Spelhold).

Jaheira - Nalia
Jaheira was casting cures on Nalia who had like 2 HP left after a major battle. This was early on before a stoneskin contingency was possible. Jaheira commented to her that Nalia must be new to adventuring and should be careful to avoid getting killed. Nalia was agreeable. I think this was after the big fight in the slavers dry-docked ship (Slums).

Yoshimo - PC
Yoshimo asks about PC's Bhaal heritage. You can tell him to shut up or let him know how you fell about it (Evil: Like it/Good: Resisting it). This happened somewhere in Trademeet or the Druid Grove.

Valygar - Minsc
Last night in Ust' Natha Valygar told Minsc he should seek out a temple and have someone look after his head wounds. Minsc rolled with the punches and he and Boo laughed it off. I thought maybe something was going to happen here!

That's it so far...
My party doesn't talk much.
