    You Can Fight and use spells at the same time
    And You can cast Great Spells Like Summon Pit fiend{I cant wait to cast that}

    People more knowledgeable in this multiclass can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're going to be disappointed to realize that with the XP cap, you won't reach high enough levels to cast Gate...

    Multiclass is nice - combines the advantages of both worlds. However, BTA is right - due to the x-cap they suffer from the inherent disadvantage to share the xp earned equally on both classes. A cleverly made dc char would always be stronger. However, with edwin and Korgan (or Imoen and Minsc - whatever your alignment is ;) ) you will enjoy to play this char.

    And if he hits the experience cap, he goes to the store and buy Throne of Bhaal, a lot of room under that cap.

    Depends on what you want, too. If you want a mage with some fighting skills and better hit points, than dualling fighter to mage is probably best. If you want a good balance, or you want to fight, but be able to cast great defensive spells, than a multi-class is probably better. (I was pondering a mage dualled to fighter the other day, but the hit points would seem to make it never an advantage over the mc. Unless I'm wrong about how they coded dual class hit points.)

    F/M multiclass is natural to elves and them only, IMHO I played with it and completed BG&BG2.
    F/M is challenging and interesting to play, but it definetly is not a choice of powergamer (Too bad for them! :)). In BG2 they can only cast 2 lvl6 spells max(correct me if I'm wrong), so no Gate, but from scrolls. And, armor is too hard to find for an F/M (Bracers Of Defence AC3 does it for some time), only elven chain, both drow and wood elves'.

    If you want armor class, you can go with the bracers of defense, helm of balduran, shield of harmony, cloak of the sewers, and ring of earth control, for a respectable -3 AC before dex bonus. Combine it with stone skin, and a mage's protection spells, and you can be pretty difficult to take down. That is all attainable pretty quickly (though the AC 3 bracers will take some cash.) and you can use Armor spells until you get bracers.

    this Armor spell
    called Sprit Armor
    which gives you a -3 Armor Class
    i always cast this spell before i
    go into Combat

    [​IMG] IIRC in ToB a Fig/Mag/Thi will not be able to memorize 9th level spells, but a Fig/Mag can.

    In BG2 no mage can memorize 9th level spells.

    Yes, Spirit Armor is very nice. :)

    How come you think it's especially enjoyable to play a Fig/Mag with either Edwin & Korgan or Minsc & Imoen?

    I think the reason is that with Edwin&Korgan an MC F/M would not suffer from his unsufficient skills in each trade, for Korgan would do the battle and Edwin would do the arcane. All are happy, F/M might stay aside and behold and recieve experience. :)


    Soloing with F/M might be rather challenging though, IMHO.

    Earl: As I said - an mc fighter-mage is between the two worlds of a fighter and a mage. I just think it is incredibly useful to have an able "full" fighter (for battle support) and an able "full" mage (for the highter level spells) at hand ;)
