Never had a problem with the game not being playable. All my settings are at their max and it's too hyped!

any downside to the patch. I remember the BG1 patch made one ring of wizardry not there anymore.

Nope. The hidden items in BG2 still remain after the update.

[IMG] By "hidden items" do you mean the invisible items that you can't discard once they are in your inventory (the subject of another string)? That particular bug isn't fixed?

[IMG] Does it fix anything the Beta didn't?

In particular, the bag of holding?

That is the main reason I went and got the Beta a couple days ago. (SOMEONE said Dec 6 for the real release! :) )
My bag of holding is full and I can't delete anything anymore. Oh, yeah, I can take things out, OK, sell them, use them, whatever. But when I go back to the bag, they are still there! Makes a good source of income, and has occasionally helped with equipment (I wouldn't use it for major items--how real would it be if everyone had Daystars and C Furys!!) but now I can't put any new items in it so it's not so useful! :(
    :)

No, I meant by hidden items like BG1 had.

Thanks, guess I'll have to try the final patch, then. The Beta didn't fix the bag--at least it didn't fix my existing one. Unless maybe it only fixed new bags, i.e. new game??

    Thanks, again! :)

For everyone's info: the final patch DOES fix the bag of holding problem I described above. Installed it today, and can now delete unneeded items from the bag to make room for more.

Don't know about any other fixes, yet. :)

Sylvus: Sorry to make you repeat youself again, but do you mean hidden items like the ring of wizardry in BG1 where you just hope you run your mouse over the right spot? (Ring of Wizardry, Ankeg armor, ring of fire resistance, etc.) I'm sorry, but I haven't read any walkthroughs so I didn't know that there were any hidden items in BG2.

the patch has messed up my game somewhat. The last two characters won't stay with the group and when I try to make them go somewhere they take two steps then stop. I had no problems before the patch (so why did I install it, darn good questions!)

I think I figured out the problem. The new patch and VICONIA.BCS in overide from chicks.zip (the multiple romance patch) do not play well together. I removed the file from the overide directory and the problem seems to have gone away. But I only tested for a minute, time for bed, long work day tomorrow.

Black Isle may make good games, but they've been far and away the worst I've known for bugs. Anyway still can't install it as I've got Theif II and CM00/01 currently on. BG was horribly bugged, IWD was, Torment was thankfully free of them. Actually the only bug free game I've had this year was Ultima IX, shame they forgot the gameplay.

Wow, really? I've had very few problems with any of Black Isle's games (BG1 and TotSC, BG2 and IWD), most of the time the bugs they fix in patches I never ran across. The biggest problem I've had is with BG2 and the "interrupted dialog" bug (which as far as I know they didn't fix :( )

I had heard that Ultima IX was extremely buggy, but that was a while ago, so maybe they had fixed them by the time you bought it.

I got Ultima IX in the first version released in the UK (so the bugs from the US version were sorted out).

Actually I lie a little in the post above. There haven't been many bugs in Black Isles games, just the few I've had have been capable of totally ruining the game (BG II has always been 'playable', as was the first two, aside from the slowdown Torment was thankfully free).
