[IMG] I'm wondering if anyone can help me out here.

I'm running SOA with the ToB expansion installed. I've had two characters and seem to have had the same problem with them both: the Flail of Ages just disappears. I don't remember selling it and haven't been able to find it at any of the merchants or in any of the places where I stored extra equipment. I was planning to keep it for my character to use once she got proficient in the Flail ability, but it doesn't matter much when I don't have the danged item!

What I am wondering is if there is a program that will show me where items are located within the game. I have ShadowKeeper, so I could just add the weapon back into my inventory, but I'd rather find out for sure if I am accidentally selling it or if somehow some random bug has been eating it.

I could swear I had this happen with the Amulet of Power at one stage, too. I reinstalled (not because of this... just a routine format of my machine), and it didn't do it again.

Of course (like you I suspect) I'm not sure I didn't do something stupid like drop it or sell it. I could swear it just went missing, though...

Remember that particular items (like the ring of Gaxx, or the Flail of Ages, etc) are dumped to your (the main character's) inventory when the person with it leaves the party, is imprisoned, etc. Maybe your inventory was full when this happened and it was dropped. Just a thought.

That is the oddest part. Both times it happened just as I was reaching D'Arnise Keep in the beginning of Chapter 2. While I had characters join, none of them left for any amount of time. Not even Jaheira's Harper quest had started yet.

I was hoping with all the hacking tools available there would be one out there that could tell me item locations :(

[IMG] Well, I don't think that you CAN sell it. So if it disappeared, it may have been dropped. I have had a few times when my inv was full and got a new item, and one other in inv was dropped, so that may have happened.

I hadn't thought about that, Walker. Before I installed ToB I think it was possible to sell it, but both these games were started after the upgrade. Good point. I'm trying to think back to where the stupid thing could have possibly gotten dropped.

Flail of the ages is seen by the game as a quest item so:
    1) It can't be sold.
    2) if a character with it gets petrified it moves to another character
    3) If you drop it on the floor it won't dissapear.

What you could do is go back through the area's hold tab and search :D

    Possible causes for dropping items:
    1) inv full
    2) earthquake (don't know if it was implemented but still)
    3) using sk in an incorrect way

You may use Near Infinity to locate items in areas, however you need to explore areas one by one.
