[IMG] Are you cheesey enough to use fire based spells and wands on Firkkrag(sp?) the Red Dragon just because the game will let you?

I have used the flame arrow spell to some effect on him before.

Actually, I doubt it, since it's kind of counter-intuitive. Who in their right mind would even try casting a fire spell at a fire-breathing dragon?

Fire for fire! It does not work well though. Try lightning and/or cold, or better:pure magic damage and watch a mighty dragon fall to magic missiles!

My parties roasted many red dragons in "Pools of Darkness" and "Champions of Krynn".

A human artist who can breath fire isn't immune to fire either.

haha kmonster... those dragons come in packs and use their numbers to beat you instead of having one buff and resistant dragon like in BG. Can't really compare.

Dragons are supposed to have "immune to dragon breathe" instead of of "immune to fire." So although it seems weird that Firkraag can shrug off his own fiery breath but not a magically evoked fireball, it's abiding with the rules. It's just that these BG2 dragons also have high magic resistance, which makes them seem immune to your fire spells.

Incorrect. Red dragons, for example, are immune to all fire, including red and gold dragons' fiery breath, but not to other dragons' breath weapons; a blue's lightning bolt will rip through their scales, but they can roast the blue with their breath because blues are immune to lightning, not fire.
