hallo there. this is my first post in the forums :)
i'm currently playing with my evil group:
    isam - chaotic evil assassin
    korgan
    jaheira
    viconia
    yoshimo
edwin (edwina at the moment ;) )
yesterday, i tried something other than just beating first conster and then firkraak down:
isam pickpocketed garren for his deed (scroll which states that garren is the righful owner of the windspear hills).
jaheira called woodland beings, the siren (awful voice set, by the way!) dominated conster, isam pickpocketed conster for the key to garren's daughter's prison.
isam talked to firkraak to get the mission of bringing garren's deed to him. isam gave the deed to firkraak => each member of the group got 40,500 xp.
korgan enraged, jaheira and viconia summoned fire and air elementals and korgan almost singlehandedly beat firkraak down (no traps, enough cheese already!).
isam & co freed garren's daughter and returned to garren for another 44,500xp per group member.
*ahem*... 85,000 xp per head/nose for about... nothing? i felt so bad i reloaded the game and just did the usual firkraak beating. this feels almost as bad as stealing a second ring of gaxx from kangaxx or summoning a caco-fiend to get 200,000 xp twice for yoshimos heart :(
what do you think? should i exploit every weakness (i'm playing on insane, by the way) or should i be evil, but not THAT evil?

Exploit every weakness! Crush! Kill! Destroy!

You're CE, for Christ's sake: it sounds like you've managed to pull off the perfect double-cross, where no one can work out it was you what done it, to your great benefit! And it's not like you did *nothing*: you killed a dragon! Okay, it is an exploit (sorta) but it's a reasonable one, RP-wise. Inventively exploiting both sides and breaking your word to suit yourself? Textbook CE. If that's not worth some extra XP, then what is?

I hope you've got a save game left...

^OK you are absolutely evil. FOR that I congratulate you. I hate it when people think evil is just slaughtering innocents, it is no evil, it is just stupid. BUT this, my friend, double-crossing everybody with creativity for personal gain (XP rewards) is EVIL indeed!

It is a joy to see you live up to your deadly potential as a Bhaal Child with a tainted and strong blood! Continue this and REVEL in your WICKEDNESS! (Mayhap I may think being evil is good unfourtunately I do not have the courage to do so...)

thank you, guys, guess i wasn't that evil after all. luckily, i did make a save game, just to look at the two journal entries posted in about 1 hour claiming success in everything.
but now that i know that crushing, killing and destroying (thank you magpie ;) ), but doing so sensibly (gracias silverstar ;) ) is in tune for my CE alter ego, i'll happily go on dragon hunting. adalon, you say? well, come on, darling! last time i saw her, you needed to hit her once before initiating the dialogue "return the eggs". then you got the reward of 78,500 xp, were teleported to the exit and could merrily march back to her to slay her for the vial of silver dragon blood. although human flesh doesn't cover me as beautifully as the black dragon scales. ah, the world is a good place to exploit :D

I do find it fun to play as an evil character once in a while, but sometimes it's difficult to think of creative ways to do it. Summoning demons in the Copper Coronet is okay, but it loses its edge after the first few times you do it. I'm glad you found a fun and creative way to be evil :)

By the bye, is it difficult to fight Adalon? Somebody told me that she's the most difficult dragon in the game, but I've never actually tried it myself.

Edit: What is that cacofiend and Yoshimo's heart thing?

the thing about the caco-fiend (or any demon you need to protect yourself by casting "protection from evil" on your party) is the following: if you give yoshimo's heart to the priest in one of the two temples of ilmater (one in the slums, one in waukeen's promenade) and babble some random friendly stuff about yoshimo having been your friend and some such, you get the reward of 200,000 xp and lose the heart. you can't pickpocket it back, but if the priest dies, he leaves the heart. now, as you don't want to turn every passing commoner red on you and be slaughtered by maniacally cackling korgan & co. (not even mentioning the drastic reputation loss [i always try to stay on 12]), you need to find a way to get the heart, but not be the one who kills the priest. tadaaa! enter caco-fiend (gate, whatever you like). have viconia cast protection from evil and edwin summon one of his pets and watch him taking down the priest but ignoring you because of your protection. take the heart, go to the next temple of ilmater, and get another 200,000 xp.
after spellhold, i usually leave one place free for someone in the throne of bhaal who could really be a brother to isam... (hint hint ;) )

fighting adalon turned out to be quite hard, as i wanted to get the reward AND her blood. if you just give her the eggs, she is gone for good when you return to her cave. but if you let - say, korgan - hit her with his dwarfen thrower from a short distance and then quickly force talk to her, she gives you the xp AND will be in her cave afterwards. what follows is the usual dragon fighting, isam lays some thorn traps, korgan, viconia and jaheira go in close combat and edwin casts breach over and over (or uses his staff of the magi to dispell). voilá. she is not as hard as firkraak imho, as she is allergic to traps.

as you can see, i was evil enough to kill adalon, but not evil enough to betray garren, firkraak and the game itself. pity adalon can't be pickpocketed for her blood, i really like her pretty skin... how would xzar put it? "i tried to become an elf, but it is more than just taking their ears". if he had ever seen adalon in her human form...

How the hell did you beat Firkraak with Fire Elementals!?!?
The fire attacks they do heal Firkraag!

PS nice deception - the way that it was pulled off deserves the extra xp imho.

    i didn't :)
the summoned creatures were the buff between korgan and firkraak. after all, korgan may be good but a 1on1 against the mighty red wyrm at lvl 13... not even my favourite dwarf could have managed that.
