    Hello, fellow PsT fans,

I've recently unearthed my copy of Torment, and decided to start a game, applying the 1.1 patch, the fixpack, tweak pack, unfinished business, and the widescreen fix, in order to get the most out of the game. I love all the corrections and additions brought by the various fixes so far, but there is still one thing bugging me : even though I copied all data from the CDs to my hard drive, the copy protection asks for CD2, not once in a while, but every time I load the game... As I use my optical drive for other things, it means swapping the disc in & out pretty much every day which, for a 10-year-old game that isn't even sold anymore, doesn't make much sense... I considered using a no-cd fix for 1.1, but I noticed the unofficial updates seem to modify the game exe, so that's a no-go if I want to keep those updates.

How are you guys dealing with this ? Are you putting up with the annoying protection system or is there a workaround ?

    TIA,
    Fred

Well, if it's possible, I'd make an image of the CDs and mount the image using a tool like Daemon Tools. It's what I've done for my BG and IWD CDs, anyway, and I try to do it for most games, actually. Mounting an image is less work than switching CDs. Doesn't always work, when some form of copy protection on the CD is blocking my attempts to make an image, but it's still worth a try.

actually, I found that if you patch the game to 1.1, then apply the no-cd patch before the other fixpacks, tweakpacks, etc, it will work !

    cheers,
    Fred
