GameInformer has got the first hands-on impressions of Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone, and the reviewer is quite enthusiastic about the game.

While all the features that I’ve talked about already make Demon Stone one heck of a game, there’s also another feature that helps vault the game into a higher status. Call it the “X factor” or the “fun factor,” but Demon Stone is simply fun to play. While the game is oozing with D & D lore, you don’t have to be a level 50 wizard or know the names of all the weapons and items to have a good time. While having a knowledge of those things make some of the more obscure references worthwhile, the addictive hack n’ slash gameplay ensures that gamers of all D & D knowledge levels will have plenty to have fun with. True, I could do with perhaps a multiplayer feature (or an online mode considering that The Two Towers had one) to make those heated battles that much more enjoyable, but as it stands, Demon Stone is probably the best Dungeons & Dragons action game ever made.

I could believe that, especially after seeing the new gameplay footage in the media section. You can read the whole review here.
