GameAxis has reviewed FR: Demon Stone and rated it 7.0. The reviewer isn't overly enthusiastic and doesn't consider the game a refreshing one, but he says there's not much room for grievance as it's all well-tested ideas. Here's a snip:

Oops, no Three Stooges in this game, but there are three characters that will be in your party. They all have a past that they would rather put behind, and they all journeyed to forget (or to redeem themselves) – but an unknown, inexplicable force eventually pulled them together to Damara. Rannek, the fighter, decided to leave his destroyed town in disgrace, after he was unable to prevent trolls from ravaging his hometown. Zhai, a half breed elf rogue, has always been unwelcome in the surface world due to her undesirable drow blood. Illius was descended from a family of knights, and was disowned when he chose to practice spellcraft and become a sorcerer rather than continue his family heritage. They start off fighting orcs which are a bit oblivious to their presence (they have other orcs to worry about), but eventually the enemies would eventually realize that they need to put their focus on these three.

These classes are all too familiar to any fantasy buff. It’s not a refreshing change, but it’s a combination that’s been tried and tested so there’s small room for grievances. There’s really no main character in the story – the game centers on all three, and the game gives you the ability to switch from character to character and use them as a team with a simple click of a button. Rannek is the best all-around fighter – he’s tough and can withstand attacks better than the rest of the party. His hits feel solid, and are the unsurpassed in close-up battles. For overall support, Illius is best suited for the job with his useful protection spells and unlimited ranged attacks. Zhai on the other hand, is as complicated as her demeanor. She’s lithe and agile, with acrobatic attacks and stealthy moves.
