In the barren sphere of what is known as a planet there is no gravity - only that which keeps the islands in Nimbus.

The islands float through the cloady skies, their inhabitants - the Nibians. A war-fraught people for their belief in the Furies of Sun, Wind, Thunder and Rain. Only by sacrificing their enemy priests upon altars do they please the battling furies and gain new technology to rule Nimbus and maybe even construct a peace the people crave.

An island approaches - the captain (leader) is Lord Halmet, a tall man with a good jusgment and strategy. With his guidance the Island has organised itself, there are edge-farms because to have them on land would be deadly, and many homes under the ground. One of the largest buildings there is the Childrens' Home. Where all the children are sent to live if their parents work or are killed.

Inside the building are strict rules and many children. Among them was Elisha, the captains daughter. She got the best room in the place, it was small and had very little, as many places. There was a bed, a table, a chair, a bookshelf, a mirror, a wardrobe and a small corner of the room that was curtained off that served as a bathroom. it was painted peach and had a window viewing the bleak landscape of the sky - her lonely world.

There was a knock on the door as Khara came in, she was Elichas' best friend in this place
"So, Elly, what's new?" Elisha sighed
"Nothing..."
"But aren't you excited about the fact your father has just gained ownership of a NEW ISLAND!"
Elisha scowled and sat on her bed
"Why should I be glad? Sometimes I think of running away, becoming a priest or something - that would show him." Khara smiled and sighed at the same time.
"You have threatened this too often, even if you did do it - only the high priests are allowed above ground, with the workshops and the temple. You wouldn't be in danger or anything. Anyway - we are only 15, we have our whole lives." she sat next to Elisha "Come on, we are at peace for once, what do you want to go and do?"

"I want to escape."

 

Khara started
"What? B-but we can't." Elisha sighed
"Why not?"
"Where would we go? It is too dangerous."
"I'm not asking you to come with me." Khara gasped
"You are just going to up and leave? Become a priest or something and hope your father will abandon his land to spend time with you?" Elisha stared out the window.
"I... don't know."
"Be lucky you have a dad, remember how mine went? One was collecting storm crystals in an airship while my dad was caught out when the cannons were destroyed."

They sat in silence for a while. Khara was the first to speak.
"Shall we go then? I think I know someone who can help..."

 

"Oh? Who?"

 

"Why, my good friend Bharjol."
Elisha thought
"The Shop owner?" Khara smirked and winked at her friend.
"Shop owner, bartender and... other skills and trades." Elishe put her hand over her eyes
"Let's just go." Khara smiled sadly.
"Give me five minutes to pack, you should too, we better take no more than about 10 items. I'll be back!" She left the room. Elisha looked at her stuff, what should she take?

She looked at her stuff - Hairbrush, book, diary, jagged dagger, necklace, three pairs of leggins and shirts, toothbrush, bracelet, small makeup kit, cuddly toy, three pendants for her necklace and a backpack to put stuff in. She sighed looking at what she would have to decide upon, she would have to be sneaky and perhaps take advantage putting things together to make room for more stuff.

 

Elisha frowns. She decides the cuddly toy is out; she's a woman now. The pendants and the necklace are expendale too. And if the book isn't good for anything, she'll leave that behind as well.

Elisha looked at the book and threw it across the floor, discarded. She looked at the necklace, it was fine gold links, she looked at the pendants, one was a locket with a picture of her parents, she felt herself getting choked up and her eyes watering, she closed it and looked at the others, they were religious, she considered throwing them, but found she couldn't, they were too important, she put them back on her bed. They cuddly toy wa that of a Bulf, she shrugged it had been with her a long time - she may need a friend out there, Khara may not be enough, she put it back to think on it.

(Remember to combine stuff - you can take more, everything will go in the backpack which doesn't take up any of the ten things.)

 

Elisha decides on the things that her limited experiences thus far have told her that she would need.

She gathers up the jeweled dagger, the toothbrush, 2 shirts, 2 pairs of leggings, the cuddly toy, her diary, one of the religious pendants, and the locket. She then attaches the second religious pendant to the necklace. Upon throwing them into the backpack, she seeks out to find her friend.

Also, she's wearing the third shirt, leggings, and necklace.

 

Elisha put her bag on her back and went to the door to have it flung open by Khara
"Hey, you ready to go?"
"Sure as hell."
The two of them ran down the corridor passing the rooms of old friends and enemies. Khara hesitated as she ran, was she really giving up her life here for Elisha? Was she really going to *leave* her home? She carried on running. Elisha was having doubts too... but it was too late they had run out the building and along the pitch black streets, illuminated every so often through the wholes in the cieling when fiery bullets and people ran overhead (Not necessarily fiery people, but most likely ) they stopped as they reached a crossroad, they could run back to their home behind them, try their luck going forwards (where there are a lot more holes in the roof), down to the right or left, there wasn't a soul. both turned to one another and said in unison
"Where the hell now?!"

They attempt to hide in any shadows or anything that may work to hide them that may be nearby and see what happens
