Freeze up at main menu

    I have read with much intrest and tried almost all of the suggestions to fix CTDs and freeze ups but none have been able to solve my problem. I don't want to kick a dead horse but I am going to pos this anyway in hopes I will get a workable solution and maybe help someone else too.

    My system meets or exceeds all the minimum requirements and in most cases exceeds the recommended requirements.

    After a good install I am able to watch the opening movie with no problems, as soon as the main menu starts to load the game freezes and I can do nothing but a hard reboot.

    I have not yet been able to locate a no-cd for the game so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would like to try that out.

    Any ideas on how I can solve this freeze up?
