I remember opening the items menu with Shadowkeeper once and coming across the fused plate of Balduran which I figured must be in the game somewhere but I've never come across it. I'm guessing it's just the straight plate with some extra abilities added onto it but I've never found a way to confer those extra abilities. Visiting Cromwell or Cespenar whilst carrying the original plate doesn't make any difference.

So has anyone ever got the fused plate? And, if so, where? And what advantages does it have over the original item?

I've never heard of such an item; browsing through SK doesn't show it up either.

Perhaps it was a mod addition?

Shadowkeeper doesn't work properly with mod items, so I doubt it.

Prolly a carryover from BG2. That, or you meant the Plate of Balduran.

Shadowkeeper has always worked fine for me with mod items. You sure you're not using an older version of SK?

The one I've got only checks Chitin.key. Mod items aren't in the games file list in there, so that's why it doesn't work. It's a two-year old version, so maybe.

I don't bother with it anyway. NI and DLTCEP are much better.

It's definitely something I've come across before but I've just checked and it's not there now so I'm guessing it must be something added by a mod I don't currently have installed.

Shadowkeeper should show all items, including files in Override folder (items of installed mods are there). If there is a problem with viewing mod items, I can only think of the mods themselves to be blamed. I have good reason for this, I have heard about several low-quality mods (sometimes there are still people who send in their dialog.tlk with the mod to keep string references).
Since I have not experienced it, this is only a theory.
