Does anyone know any good role-playing games taking place in the future? I know Fallout, but besides that? I´m thinking about something with Dungeon & Dragons rules in it, but in a sci-fi setting, like with aliens and phaserguns or something like that?

(Heh, Baldur´s Star Gate. Yeah, I know, stupid pun.)

Knights of the Old Republic comes to mind, edit: being more helpful, wha? It's developed by BioWare and somewhat based on the D&D ruleset, it also takes place a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away..

Wasteland comes to mind. It's an old (1989) CRPG but takes place after nuclear warfare destroys most of the earth. So you get to use meson cannons and stuff.

It's not D&D though. Similar to the earlier Might and Magic games.

Um, there are some old console Shadowrun RPGs - I played a bit of the SNES one and wasn't too impressed, mind you...

There's an indie game that gets some support at RPG Codex as a Fallout clone called The Omega Syndrome or something like that.

Er - Geneforge is sci-fi too, methinks.

    But yeah, no D&D here.

Wizadry 8, I can't think of a game that has better melded science fiction with high fantasy. Be warned though, it requires a lot of micromanagement and long-term planning. Once you get used to that though, its well worth it.

Again, not D&D, but Anachronox seems to be a great game from what I've played of it. Its more of a console style interface, but its got a great script and a brilliant blade runner esque atmostphere, right down to the 80s synth soundtrack. Its usually cheap, too.
