[IMG] Finally I finished the game..whew. I do have a question though:

I want to uninstall the game to create more space in my hard disk. How can i save my characters so I can replay them again at a later date?

Finally a big thank you to all the folks here who have helped me out with the game. Thanks also to Kaichern (who wrote the walkthrough).

In the you can export charictors from the records page. once you have exported the charictors you want to save go in to your IWD2 folder and copy the charictors folder to some safe place (like my documents or somthing) if you want the charictors back just replace the folder in the IWD2 directory with the copy you made.

I always backup my savegames too. Its the same principle as with character backups.
Then everytime i want to play a certain battle or anything i can always just install, move folder, load and i'm there. In 5 minutes i have it all back.

    Just a thought. :spin:

When I uninstalled the game it asked me if I wanted to keep my saved game position. I selected yes and it deleted everything else but kept that.

Yep, it usually asks you if you want to keep the saved games and character. And that way, ashuming you don't move the folder, when you reinstall it you have the characters and saved games already there and don't have to worry about copying the folder.

If you have a saved game, you needn't save the character too. The game will be enough. Any custom portraits or soundsets must be present in the appropriate directory as they are not stored with the character.
