I have passed this game about 3 times and absolutly love it, but i'm looking for something new. Are their any games that are similar to temple of elemental evil? with respect to how the game is played. Cause i like the way you fight, and the ability to walk around and add characters to your party.

    Thanks

All the games covered by SP bear some similarity to ToEE but none relies on the exact same system.

If you want to make more than one character (BG saga, IWD saga) AND to be able to add characters to your party as henchmen (NWN), you need to start BG in the multiplayer mode and create less than 6 characters.

IIRC PoR allows you both to create and to recruit characters, but I can't recommend that game.

sorry for my ignorance but i really don't understand what your second statement is saying to me.

Also, what do you guys think of Arcanum. Someone on a different message board suggested it to me. I'm downloading the demo right now and will see how it is.

    The second statement means:

In Baldurs Gate 1 and 2, if you play single player, you get to make just one chararcter, who is the main character, and everyone else is a NPC who joins your party at one point or another. To get around this annoying issue, start of multiplayer game, but just play by yourself, and assign from 2 to 6 characters that you create to the party. If you want the NPCs in the game to join, you have to have less than 5 PCs in your party.

In the Ice Wind Dale series, you make all of the characters, up to six, there are no joinable NPCs, iirc, if I'm wrong about that, I'm sure someone here will correct me in about 5.768 seconds.

Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor, is more like ToEE in game play, you create up to four PCs and can add NPCs to your party to a maximum of six characters. I'm trying to get through it. Maybe in a month or so I'll get back to it. It's not as horrible as many here think, imo, but it's not superb either.

thanks for the input Scot. I will try the demo's for the games you mentioned to see if their what i'm looking for.

I played the demo for Arcanum, and i must say that its not to my likeing. Although it is similar to TOEE its no where near as good.

I also finished PoR Romd and thought it wasn't nearly as bad as some say, it is a decent play, but it takes forever, and can get quite boring at times.-- Check out my post over there for a great "loophole" about extra HP. I am downloading all the patches for this game now in hopes that it is better than Pool of Radiance. Seems everyone thinks so, so I'm getting a good feeling :)

I'm currently playing the pool of radiance demo and is seems pretty good. Although its not as good as Temple of Elemental Evil, i plan on buying this game off ebay.

Oh, and have you played the Fallout series? Some of the guys who made those worked on ToEE IIRC.

ToEE is like a successor of PoR2. PoR2 was the first try and ToEE the improved second.

If you want to play PoR2, take a look at the available mods so you might enjoy the game even more.
