Getting my chap from BG to BG2

    [​IMG] I do not seem able to get my guy from the first game to the second. I have been through it and while i can get any from saved games in BG2, BG games are not availabl. I really miss my stuff/gear. I did export him in BG1 and so could move him across as a pre-rolled character but he has no equipment. Oh woh is me.

    Is it too much to ask to have my KICKASS equipment back to mommy where it belongs?

    Unfortunately, when the game begins you have been captured and all your stuff has been taken. Therefore you will not be able to begin the game with all the stuff you aquired in BG.

    I had a problem importing a character from bg1 to bg2 also, what I had to do was actually find my character in the bg1 folder, I think it was in a folder named characters... then copy it to the characters folder in bg2. If you have any more questions about it, post them, and if need be I will go and double check that that was correct.

    I just did this an hour or so ago, so I can guarantee that it will work...

    First you need to export your character out of the original game. You may need to load up one of your saved games. Then you open up your character file in BG, copy the appropriate .chr file and save it into the characters file in BG2. You'll then be able to import that character into your new BG2 game. And yes, you don't get any of your original items.
