Glitch troubles? Help please!!

    Greetings all, this is my 1st post so be gentle please. I recently started a new game of Icewind Dale and I'm stuck atop the tower at chapter 6 after defeating the mage/monster villain at the sacrificial portal. The npc priest resealed it and I recovered an invisible item that I cant use or don't know how and I can't decend or exit in any way. Any ideas? is it a glitch? Please help out as my young girl and I are stumped...

    Could you be a bit more specific about where you are stuck?
    From what I understand, you're facing Brother Poquelin, and Everard is the priest who has sealed the portal. If that's the case, then right after the portal is sealed you should be facing Belhifet and a couple of golems. If that's not happening, even after reloading a saved game, then something is probably wrong.
