Jahiera has such a lousy dex I think she has no choice but to carry a shield. However there are few magic weapons she can use like this and she feels a little left out with her wooden club, while everyone else has magic swords. What can I give her, and where do I find it?

Go to the Gnoll Stronghold and retreive the Gauntlets of Dexterity from the bridge guardians.

I gave the gauntlates to my mage. As far wep. for Jaheira I gave her the +1 quarter staff I got off Silke.

Magical scimitars in the durlags tower area and a staff mace (daon't remember where) if you have the Totsc expansion. If not then the staff from Silke works well.

Staff mace is on Balduran's Island...forgot if the old mage in the shack gives it after you bring the book back, or if its in the boat to pick up.
I've never been able to find a good role for Jaheira in my BG1 parties. I ask the question...you want a fighter or you want a healer...at the levels of BG1, she isn't very good at either role. The druid spells at these low levels are pitiful. They don't start to shine until they get the level 5+ spells. Plus, at a lesser proficiency and restricted greatly in type of weapon, as a fighter she is weak.
One of my first times through ToSC, I played a druid protagonist to gain the higher level spells available with the lower experience required. Finding a weapon was tricky, but then I pickpocketed Drizzt and suddenly my weapon problem was solved.

The only good weapon for Jaheira is dagger between her shoulder blades to shut her up.

Simply pickpocket Drizzt and give Frostbrand+3 to Jaheira (Druid can use scimitar).

why even bother with jaheria, branwen is better because she can reach higher levels because she is not dualed and she is a pure cleric, equipped with a sling or mace + 1 and she is a good melee or range person with the same and more spells than jaheria, oh and another + no khalid "imo" he wines way to much and is not a very good fighter i prefer minsc

Branwen is completely lowsey in melee no matter how you cut it, regardless of her levels. Jahiera, however, is passable with Frostbrand if you have TotSC installed, however her spells suck. Ah the eternal debate: which one. I say neither and go with Yeslick, Quayle, or perhaps Tiax if you're evily inclined for a priest type.

Incidently, Khalid towards the end of my game could turn Minsc to dog chow. Give him the right equipment/weapons and he's fine as a fighter. Sure, he's voice sucks to hear over and over, but I would have rather seen Jahiera, well, eliminated from SoA and have Khalid turned mean and hard by her, er...absence. Then I might have had at least one of the two in my party ;)

I really like that idea Crawl. Killing off Jaheira instead of Khalid. That would have been entertaining watching the dark side of Khalid.Maybe even make him an evil NPC.The Frostbrand is nice but a dagger in her back still would be best.

Giving anyone the right equipment and they're a good fighter, for example Imoen. Dual class her to a wizard and cast the right spells like some proections and a haste and she can turn people into dog food. But no matter what, i'm glad that it's Jaheira in SoA and not Khalid, i don't think i could stand hearing his whining, grating voice ever again.

Heh Imoen would still likely be eaten alive by a Xavart. Yes, his voice is annoying, that's pretty well established, but he's still a good fighter. Just because the poor elf has a speech impetiment, there's no need to make fun of his stuttering :D Annoying Khalid is better than Bitchy Jahiera anyday. She should have stayed the way I left her in my origional game: turned to stone.

personaly i could do with out the couple, jahera has no good cleric spells is not even a decent fighter and the same goes for khalid, imo i dont think either of them could fight their way out of a shoe box
