Halfing F/T question: Using Tome of STR??

    If my Halfling F/T with a 17 STR uses the Tome of Strength, will his STR stat go to 18, or will he get exceptional STR?

    Just curious. :)

    It should go to 18 even. I don't think you get a bonus when your strength is raised to 18 unless it specifically says so (eg. Gauntlets of Ogre Power).

    WP: I know the theory is that it should only go to 18, but I don't know if it really happens that way.

    I don't know if they implemented it, but halfling fighters don't get exceptional strength . . . ever.

    EDIT: Barring magical items like GoOP, of course.
