NWVault has conducted an interview with Rodney Orpheus for his hall of fame module entitled Hidden Tradition. Here's a snip:

    1. Could you please tell us a little about yourself and your history of D&D?

I've been playing RPGs since my early teens, though oddly enough I never actually played any version of D&D. I started out playing the Star Trek RPG (which had the advantage that no-one ever needed to explain what Warp Factor 5 was, or how you set Phasers on Stun), then moved on to stuff like Call of Cthulhu and Paranoia (still two of the best RPGs ever). The only fantasy RPG I played much was the old Middle Earth Roleplaying Game (MERP) which at the time was far better than D&D was. I only really got interested in D&D with the advent of the 3rd Edition, which I think got rid of a lot of the silly rules that used to annoy me about AD&D. With D&D 3.5 I think they've got a really cool system now.
