[IMG] Something weird happened today. I turned my PC on after having shut it down yesterday correctly, and the screen that came on was the "it is now safe to turn of your computer", which never comes on on my PC. Anyway, I turn it off and turn it back on and I get safe mode. So, off again and on again. Now it functions fine, but the visuals are weird, like on-line pictures are grainy and not at all sharp. I've got it in 600 x 800 or whatever, and I tried every other resolution to no avail. I checked out a game real quick and it looks all weird, wrong colors and so on. I've got an emachine piece of crap, but I think this is a config prob anyway. Any ideas? I did a scandisk and a file checker-no probs. What's up? Anyone know?

i think the problem is as simple as setting the color depth. Set it to 16 or 32 bit instead of a 256 color palette :)

[IMG] That seems to help a little, but not totally. Its still more grainy than usual. Anything else you can think of?

If the color resolution is actually High Color or True Color, it should be fine...

Other solutions would be to check your drivers (best done by someone familiar with that sort of thing) and/or degauss your monitor. Degaussing removes fluctuations caused by magnetic fields too close to your computer.
