I'm Sorry I am a conservative who honestly believes that an insult is an insult is an insult and when the AoDA says you can't insult against a Country, that insulting the country's Commander in Chief / Head of State in a time of war violates the AoDA.

I'm sorry that I am not an administrator with the privelidges of putting up insulting, insult inciting, threads without the fear of being banned, warned, or much of anything even though this goes completely against the AoDA and various STICKIES.

I'm sorry that I was not born a liberal that would then post on this forum that President Bush is to blame for the death of 3000 people and because it agrees with TaluTain's ideology, get away with saying that perhaps even get encouraged for it.

I'm sorry but just because you may or may not have banned in the past 'Socialists' or 'Communists' does not erase the track record of hiding behind Administrative Duty in order to toss Insults at President Bush and get away with it. And who knows? The people you banned were probably so excessively over the top you had no choice and banned them NOT to hide behind the image of 'fairness towards ideologies' but to grin and bear the need to appear that way.

I'm Sorry but with the banning of recent conservatives such as myself and Gleeman, you have a history of banning Conservatism and only allowing BUSH-BASHING insults and no other?

I'm Sorry but I believe in fighting Fire with Fire and when the Administrator is posting up insults and Insult Inciting Threads, that should qualify and permit me to do the same within that administrator's thread.

    Finally:

I'm Sorry that this forum is full of people who love to dish out insults against Republican/Conservative Leaders but when they get em thrown back they can't take it too well.

No need to ban me cause I'm not posting on this board again. This forum is clearly an ANTI-NEO CON forum.

Who is Gleeman? I did a search for the name and came up dry.

You strike me as someone who came to the Boards with an agenda (perhaps to get banned in record time).

What's the point? Again, you can raise ideology issues without throwing insults at people. A lot of people think Bush is an idiot with an agenda. I just think he's none too bright. As a politician arguably wielding the most power in the world, you had better believe that he's fair game for comment everywhere. Just don't take it out on people who aren't. If you have a point to raise, raise it.

There is a difference between Bush-Bashing and bashing individuals here. I am sorry you don't see that, because I think that you could have some valuable input here.

Shlrup? Sorry. Gleeman is Gleeful Extremist. He was known as Shlrup?

Got banned merely by saying that people were acting like 'Saddam Loyalists' or something. I mean come on?

That Hanging guy and others thought Shlrup (bad spelling) was producing well written posts that were engaging the readers. And he gets banned?
It sounded 'bizzare' to me so I decided to give this Forum a whirl myself and see what the problem was with the Administrators.

The problem is that they love BUSH-BASHING but they do not like it when such bashing is done against United Nations or other liberal organizations and leaders and what not. Nor do they like it when they are called 'Saddam Loyalists'

You mean Shralp? If so, search in AODA for his posts and then you'll see why he was banned.

    Also, AO, check your PM.

Off-topic: Did he choose the nick American Optimist just so that we would call him AO so that he could feel like the Forgotten Realms overgod? :shake:

None of my posts were directed at any individual and my post is pretty similar with Shlrups.
If it got interpreted that way becuase I was insulting Environmentalists right after a post that had to do with environmentalism..

I mean I can see how that one particular post might be seen as an insult to the person directly above me. But, I never quoted or directed my words towards anyone on here. I never did that and that's because I never made my posts as insults against anyone but against Environmentalism, or the United Nations, and I did so in defense of the BUSH-BASHING insults.

And yes I have seen Shlrup's posts.... All linked proudly off of his own website. And No.. I don't believe he should have been banned much like other people's posts showed that other people felt that he shouldn't have been banned.

Read the posts of people who were dismayed to see him go.

I might link my own posts proudly off mine? Who knows? We can start a Bonfire of the Sorcerer's Palace Vanities. :)

And you have been warned, several times, does it tell you anything.

    Disclaimer:
I know that I am not perfect in posting, far from it, but since I haven't been banned, I don't think my posts merits for me being banned, right?

    Hello AO.

You remember me, we've talked before. I had hoped that you had come to these boards as a voice for Conservatism and common sense, but it looks like you may quickly "flame out".

First, about Shralp...he is not banned, but as I understand it, his posting privileges are suspended. I don't know if that is permanent, and it's not my business. This BB is Taluntains "house", and he can run it as he sees fit...I'm sure, as a Conservative, you must support that ideal. I loved Shralp's posts, but then again, I was able to see his tongue in cheek, whereas others couldn't.

Second, as far as how this "house" is run...I have posted some extremely conservative views, some that perhaps even you would not support...I have even played a little fast-and-loose with the forum rules from time to time...and have been appropriately warned...and every time it has happened, I had to review what I had posted and concede that in some way I had broken one of the established rules of the forums...whether the scolding came from Tal, Blackthorne or Beren. I have also found them to be surprisingly even-handed in their administration of the forum rules.

Third, I understand how you feel...how these attacks against our Chief Executive feels akin to an attack against the blood of great patriots, like Pat Tillman. It makes you want to be able to shut them up and not besmirch the greatest example or a world power in all history...but then comes perspective. These boards are represented by people from all over the world...I have no idea what their personal experience is, and how it could cause them to feel angered or threatened by America's actions...and I have no right to judge them. I do have a responsibility, as a Conservative American, to exercise tolerance and a willingness to try to understand the feelings of those who oppose the actions of my country. Through a demonstration of respect for the personhood of everyone, even those I oppose, I have gained an insight to some views which I never could have gained without measured interaction.

I'm rambling now, and this soapbox is getting rickety...my point is that I feel there is plenty of need and space for the expression of Conservative views on this board...but it can not be done from an aggressive stance or hyperbole. I hope that you can accept the points I raise. I would like to see you stick around and contribute to these boards...I do really believe you have a contribution to make...I just don't want to see you go out in a "blaze of glory"

I think its deeply saddeneing that somebody is unable to accept anything beyond their own opinion. As Hacken' has said it is possible to post an opinion without offending large numbers of people. I often dont agree with opinions in the Alley, but I choose to argue the case in hand and not blame people not involved in the topic. I think people have to realise that it is important to seperate a man from a position. When people criticise Bush, they are not attacking the position of president, or the democratic way. Instead they are pointing out what they believe to be flaws in the man.
There are some very inflammatory opinions here, but lets fight the opinion with logic and reason. Not bias or hate. That way a discussion can be formed where both sides will hopefully benefit. I see the Alley as an opportunity for people to see the other's point of view, and I would like to see that goal coninue.

[IMG] For someone who is "not posting on this board again", you sure have a lot to say, American Optimist. You have been warned repeatedly in PM, and either ignored the warnings, ridiculed them, or tried to make them into a public affair to suit your own purposes by posting excerpts in topics here. You have broken the general forum rules and the specific AoDA rules numerous times.

You have been tolerated here way longer than you deserve. Your trolling ends here.
