Hi. I bought BG about a year ago and installed it.After playing for a while but never finishing it, I uninstalled the game. I am using Windows ME and instead of going to the add/remove program box to uninstall the game, i just deleted the black isle folder under "my computer". well, now i want to install the game again so i can play it through this time, but when i put the cd in the install option isn't there. It also doesn't work to go to setup.exe in the cd rom files. When i go to the add/remove program box, it says that the game is still installed, but if i try to uninstall it, it says that uninstallation will not continue because some file can't be found. HELP!!! does anyone know how i can make it so i can install this game?! I'm horrible with computers so any help is greatly appreciated. I just want to play!!!!!! eeeeeek

First of all, you should never simply delete any program that comes with an uninstaller. Chances are what happened is that you've got other game files that aren't in the game folder but that the unintaller would've gotten, most likely in the system registry. Unless you REALLY know yor way around the registry, your best bet would most likely be to call tech support. The number should be in the manual. They'll be able to walk you through the process. I cannot stress enough that you should not mess around with the registry yoursself unless you know what you're doing. You could very easily ruin your system files. Hope that this helps, I had a similar problem with IWD uninstalling. Good Luck. :)

Its real simple. Take a bat, smash your computer. Rob a bank and buy a new computer!

Heh, easy: Run ->regedit ->search ->"Baldur´s Gate" or "Black isle." You should try "BG.exe" too. ->once found; just press delete, f3, delete... After doing this, try running that setup.exe again.

Btw: has someone managed to run the setup of Battlezone II on W2k? I haven´t. :(

You're right BTA, that wasn't too helpful. Let me try again.
Hihihi1314, are you noticing any problems with any other programs? I had a similar problem with some other software I wasn't using. I started to uninstall it and my computer crashed. When I went back and tried again, I couldn't. It was like some other files were there and others weren't. I tried everything, including what Virne said. In the end, I had to reformat my computer. If you weren't able to fix the problem, I'd recommend saving any important files to disk before you try anything. I always inadvertantly delete stuff I don't want to.
Is it possible to reinstall to a different directory than where you originally installed it to? Nevermind, saw what you typed. SO the install option is not even on the cd? Is it possible to delete files off of a CD you buy like that? Maybe you accidently did. In that case, you'd have to buy a new game.
