I just want to know whether there is a magic that can revive a killed character and if there is any way to protect yourself against confusion (frickin anoying spell!)

 

there are two spells that can revive a dead character. Raise Dead is a 5th level priest spell that will bring all but Elves back to life. Resurrection is a 7th level priest spell that will bring Elves and others back from the dead.

Chaotic Commands, yet another priest spell, will protect from confusion and other magic of that sort.

 

Additionally you can haul the DOA character to a Temple. The Temple services also have Raise Dead and Ressurection. There are some factors that change the price for these services such as Reputation, Level, Charisma, etc. The Ressurection spell is the best only because it also HEALS your charater to his full hp maximum.

You also can buy/find scrolls, staffs, rods and the like that also give these spells to you as well.

 

There is the harpers call as well, which Jaheria has. It may be the worst since it takes hp's off of the caster and rivives the dead person with 1 hp.. but alive is alive, right?

According to the manual, raise dead should work on everybody including elves.
