'kay boys and gals, now I need a little help. I seek a good englishspeaker to help me check my grammar in two NPC guides I have done. Tal said that my grammar was so bad that he couldn't post them. PM me if you can help. Thanks in advance.

Of course, you will also get the chance to send your opinions of the NPC's and the credits will be partially yours.

One suggestion, Microsoft Word is a format that many SPers would use and it has a grammar check feature. You may want to do your guides in that format, or convert thereto, and then send them back to Tal.

If that doesn't appeal to you, I'd be willing to take a look at them.

Microsoft word grammer is nearly as bad as mine (which is BAD!). Rutkowski, i think you'd be best to get a human to check it, not some stupid computer program which cant think by its self.

... well actully one that could think for its self would be much worse.

Rallymama, of course you are; you live in Philly Burbs. Everyone knows that all Philly Burbsians speak english as their native language. In fact the word "english" comes from an Philly Burbsian word "enkleesh", which practically means "irrational." Of course, Philly Burbsian words are used elsewhere too: "Yankee" is shamelessly taken from a word "Kankee", which, again, means "Bald dog." So, like my old grandfather used to say; all Yankees are actually Bald Dogs. Why did Americans choose such a word as their nick, Yankee, who knows? Maybe it has something to do with the truth. Although I think most of them are far from bald; just look at the pictures from 60´s! Besides, canine features are quite rare among sapiens, but there has been inclinations that the second word might not actually be "dog", but "monkey" due of a silly mistake that included a lot of shouting and jumping inside a very small tent. Where was I? Oh, yeah; "monkey." Has anyone seen those pictures of G.Bush, where his features clearly indicate that there might be some simian parentage in his bloodline. I think the link was posted somewhere around here a little while ago... Here it is: "Bush or Chimpanzee?" So, a question arises; is there a "Simian Sapiens" tribe somewhere in USA?

Rutkowski, I can check a page or two. Send them to me via PM.

[IMG] Both guides need a great deal of spelling and grammar checking.

Here are some things that need to be worked out:

'Automatic lining' isn´t enabled automatically and screen resolution affects to the
possible lenght of line; remember to press 'enter' when you want to finish a line.

Maybe you should think of type-setting the text?
    --

"I have seen many guides that include so much not usable information so I decided
to make one with my personal thoughts.--"

The order of the words is almost completely wrong ("not" should be mentioned
as early as possible); I have no idea what you mean with this sentence. My guess:

"I have seen many guides that do not include very much of usable information, so
I decided to make one (as useless ;) ) with my... blaa... blaa..."
    --

    Property refers to physical ownership.
    --

"--It´s not very much about their quests or romances.--"

Again, I have NO idea what you mean. My guess:

"This work isn´t as in-depth as many others, so if you wish to have a better NPC
guide, scrap this one and get Extremist's Romancing Guide at..." ;)
    --

Introduction tells to the reader what to expect; if you say that the upcoming
is most likely crap, the reader expects it to be crap and might as well get
that "so much better" guide you recommend. LOL, perhaps you should say:

"My grammar might be pretty bad at times, but I have worked hard for this guide,
and I hope you enjoy of reading it despite the little mistakes I have made."
    --

    "I also stole the look."

*Sigh* How... do you steal someone´s look? (=====!!!!! STYLE, FORM!!!) Seriously,
it doesn´t matter if you took some tid-bits of some other work! Remove this
section, as that phrase (above) slightly suggests that you PLAGIARIZED the whole
    work of Sirdan.
    --

    author, new phrase. "Author"
    --

"Stats Resume" might be easier to read if there were an extra line between different stats. Like this:

    "Strength:
    Best: Minsc 18/93
    Worst: Imoen/Jan 9

    Constitution:
    Best: Korgan 19
    Worst: Viconia 8"
    --

"This you best friend (though I think she is very annoying) and you have been to hell and back."

Guess what? That´s right; I...have...no...idea... Let´s just call them "NOid", since somehow
I feel I need to repeat this over and over again... Again, and again, my guess:

"She is your best friend, and together you have gone through Hell and survived."

"this", lol, refers to a physical object.
    --

"She is a thief -of- level 8, and dualled to a mage."

There were excessive 'and's in the original phrase. Start a new phrase now and then...
    --

"--is when you get her at the same level as you are (unless you have
cheated yourself to level 20 directly) on her mage class."

    NOid. Me guesses ye means:

"When you get her, she will be at the same level as the protagonist. Because of the dualling,
thought, only her mage class will advance; her thief class is still at level 7."
    --

"--I could take the long or the short -route-...--"

    Or:

    "Long story made short"
    --

"Get the hell outta that dungeon you start in and save her then from mr. Bad Guy."

Wrong order of words. That??? What "THAT?" Oh, "that!" ==="Dungeon you start in."
Why didn´t you tell THAT in the first place? :p

"Just get out of the first dungeon, her 'quest' starts automatically."
    --

    "HOHOHO"

 It´s "Hoh-hoh-hoh", if you wish to imitate Santa Claus.
    ---- --- -- -

Sheesh, and I have read only the FIRST page! Now, take a good look above... compare that to the first page of your work... Yeah, that´s 2 to 1 ratio... :shake:

I guess, grammar, spelling and language in general are just plain hell. plain hell ? Does that even make sense in English ? Whatever, couldn't that grammar and spelling correction have been made through a pm ? Everyone who's not so sure about his skills in English has now a good reason to think twice, thrice or four times about contributing something written. Est unusquisque faber ipsae suae fortunae. Yes, but no master has fallen from the sky yet and everyone started as a beginner. I think the post above was unnecessary harsh.

You, or anyone else, may send small bits to me via PM and the larger ones to chevalier@o2.pl. When I have the time, I'll make sure that the text given is utterly and indivertibly British ;)

No! Bel! You have just caused me to have a relapse!

*rushes off to watch the stupid zero wing flash movie again*

But I wouldn't take up this challenge, as the first page is already vomit-inducing.

Sorry if it sounded a bit harsh.

I put it here because he obviously needs some serious :p help with english; I showed some of the bad parts of the first page (to the end of 'char: Imoen'). Who takes the second page?
