I am curently creating a party, consisting of a ranger (going to multiclas him into a rogue)and a monk. I am thinking of adding a druid, a fighter, a sorcerer and a cleric. The problem is I cant have them all. So, wich one can I live without. The only ones I "must" have in my party, is the druid and the monk. Any sugestions conserning wich one to drop would be most helpful.

If you are willing to recruit NPCs (and are using Co8 v5), then you can recruit any of the classes you are debating whether to use.

Alternatively, with Co8, you can have a party of 6 player characters..

If you must drop one of them, I'd suggest the druid. I always have a good domain cleric for crafting holy weapons and some kind of fireball machine is always useful.

Drop the monk, they just aren't as useful in this game. Without patching, y ou are limited to level 10, so the monk will not get any of the high level feats, plus the game escalates so fast, you really need a lot of magic to deal with foes, especially magic weapons, which isn't the monks specialty.

Interesting that the original poster says that the only characters he doesn't want to drop is the monk and druid, and the next 2 posts recommend dropping the druid and monk, respectively :p

Anyhow, if you really want a druid and a monk you can certainly make that work. I'd recommend giving the druid a level of fighter and picking up archery feats. She can make a deadly back line member who when she isn't sniping or calling down nature's wrath, is watching the health of her comrades. Or if you want to be more of a shapechanger, make sure to take Natural Spell.

If you have a druid, I'd say you don't really have room for a ranger, as they share a lot of similar skills. I think you'd be better off changing that ranger/rogue idea to a wizard/rogue, putting most of your levels in wizard, and taking just enough rogue levels to get disable traps/open locks at a decent level. Make sure to take the rogue level 1st, for the extra skill points. This guy might make a decent archer as well, or, with the right spells, might do well with a rapier and shortsword combo. Weapon Finesse is a must with this approach.

If you want a monk, cool, he'll start out slow, and get a bit less slow over time (10 levels isn't enough to see the monk truly come into his own, but I've played through ToEE with a monk w/o problem). The monks "idle" moves alone almost make it worth having one! If you're into crafting, you can make some great items for this guy.

    So now you've got a healer/archer in your group, a wizard/rogue and a monk.

There are a lot of ways you could go with the final two, but I'd recomend taking a straight cleric next. A human cleric of Pelor always works. The healing domain is great. Or an Elven cleric of Corellon Larethian is another good option. Get the war Domain and you'll be able to wield a longsword. Of course, you'll want to give this guy the best armor/shield you can, as he'll very much be a front line fighter.

For your last character I'd go with a bard with a single level of barbarian. Give her something like a greatsword and some decent strength and she'll end up being quite a useful warrior. She'll also supplement your arcane casting powers and serve as a tertiary healer for the group. Also, she'll be your party diplomat, so use her to handle most of the talking. Oh, and make sure to take your 1st level in bard for the extra skill points.

--alternatively you could make the final character a barbarian/fighter for the ultimate tank, and perhaps build your cleric or your wizard/rogue as your diplomat. I prefer the bard/barbarian personally, but this would be my second choice for this member.

    I hope this helps!
